The Laboratory of Deep Magnetotelluric Studies (LDMS) is one of the major divisions of the Reserch Station RAS. The laboratory was organized in February 2001 as a result of the reorganization the structure of the Reserch Station. The head of the laboratory is Bataleva Elena Anatolyevna - Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. The laboratory currently employs 14 people, including 1 doctor and 2 candidates of sciences.

Reserch and organizational activities: for the period 2001-2014 the 2 doctoral and 5 candidate dissertations were defended. The total number of reserch papers of LDMS more than 500.

The major problem of the laboratory is to obtain new fundamental knowledge in the field of studying the deep structure of the earth's crust and upper mantle.
